Several Web templates have
been created to use for official college page(s)/site(s).
The templates can be edited in most html programs including
Dreamweaver, GoLive, Netscape Composer, etc. (FrontPage users
click here) Each of these templates
is available in two forms:
1. Using html tables for standard elements
2. Using server-side includes for standard elements
The html for each of the template options is saved as a rich-text
format (rtf) document. To copy the html, click on the link
above the template you wish to use. You will be asked to either
open it or save it to disk. You should be able to select Microsoft
Word as the program to open the file. If not, save the file
to disk and double-click on it to open. Once opened, you should
Select All, then Copy and Paste the code into a new file in
your html program.
Questions about the templates, or about any topic related
to campus Web development, should be directed to

Aasen, Director of
Web Services,

Three-column (with
site navigation)
This style works well for departmental home pages.
The colored table in the right column is a good place for
information that should stand out (faculty contact information,
departmental announcements, etc.).

Two-column (with
site navigation)
This style works well for pages that require a large
amount of text. It includes the standard site navigation but
leaves two-thirds of the page available for your content.

server-side includes
Two-Column (no
site navigation)
This page layout allows for a great deal of flexibility. It
strays from the standard look of having the bulk of the content
on the right side of the page, putting the largest amount
of space on the left.

FrontPage Templates
The college has a license for Microsoft FrontPage. Pages created
and maintained in FrontPage are served on a Microsoft Web
server (www4). Keith Landa (4212) is the FrontPage administrator
and the contact for FrontPage questions.
