Is Orientation mandatory?

You are an adult and capable of making your own decisions.  You'll quickly learn that college is what you make it.  While Orientation activities are not mandatory, there are numerous benefits of attending as many Orientation activities as possible.  Orientation is planned with new students' needs in mind.  Everything during Orientation is designed to help you become more comfortable, more confident, and more likely to succeed at Concordia.  You'll meet many other new students as well as staff and faculty.  These connections are very important to ease your transition to college.  You'll also learn about resources and tips to be successful.  We hope that you will take advantage of Orientation activities because they are the best way to begin your college experience at Concordia!    

When can I move into my residence hall?

Residence halls open at noon on Saturday, January 5.  You should plan to go directly to the residence hall to which you are assigned. 

How can I get a parking permit for my car?

Parking is free at Concordia, but you must register your automobile and have a parking permit in the window.  You will register your automobile during the first few days on campus.  You should register your automobile at Campus Security, located in the Physical Plant.  Please know the make, model, year, and license plate number of your vehicle.

Can I order my textbooks online?

Yes!  It's incredibly convenient to purchase your textbooks online at The Cobber Bookstore.  Online book ordering ends at 8 a.m. on January 2.  There will be time to pick up your ordered books during Orientation on January 6. 

What will my mailing address be?

Each student receives a campus post office box.  You will receive your post office box number during Orientation on January 6.

When will I get my username and password?

You will receive your Concordia email username and password during Orientation on January 6.  There will even be a short technology session in which you will learn more about the technology systems unique to Concordia.
