Greetings from the National Alumni Board!
As your board president, I’m excited about the ways we’re improving alumni engagement and communication, as well as ways we’re developing better relationships with current students. Here’s a sampling of the energizing events we’ve held recently:
- On Jan. 15, our board’s Campus Connections Committee hosted the second annual alumni and student networking event. Board members and many Fargo-Moorhead alumni met with current students to share experiences and build personal relationships. It was a great opportunity for students to cultivate professional networks and for alumni to connect with each other.
- We launched our Road Scholars program in the fall in Bozeman and Billings, Mont. Three faculty members from different disciplines spoke to alumni, prospective students and friends. We plan to hold more of these events that encourage lifelong learning and the exchange of ideas. Watch for a Road Scholars event in Brainerd and Bemidji, Minn., this spring.
- A group of young alumni in the Twin Cities area gathered at Stella’s Fish Cafe for a holiday party and will hold another event later this month. Their gatherings are part of a more focused effort in that region on programs for alumni of all ages. These will include service projects, family gatherings and continuing education. If you want to help plan any of these events, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations [mailto:alumni@cord.edu].
It is a pleasure working with the passionate and dedicated members of the National Alumni Board, who work very hard on behalf of the college and alumni. We look forward to seeing many of you at our future events.
Soli Deo Gloria,
Kiaja Morgenthaler ’02
National Alumni Board President
Celebrating Homecoming 2009
Thousands of Concordia alumni returned to campus in October to "Ignite the Tradition." Among them were the classes of 1984 and 1959, which celebrated their 25th and 50th reunions respectively. Hundreds of musicians also came back to participate in the Alumni Band Reunion.

Stay Connected Every Day
Stay connected with alumni through the professional social media site LinkedIn and the social networking site Facebook. Join in discussions, post news and photos and stay in touch, both professionally and personally.
Honor a Cobber
Do you know any Concordia graduates who demonstrate outstanding achievements in their profession? Who make a difference through volunteer work? Nominate them for an Alumni Achievement Award. Nominees must have graduated from the college at least 20 years ago. Other alumni choose the winners, who are honored for service and leadership. To nominate someone, contact the Office of Alumni Relations at (800) 699-9020.
Board Seeks Enthusiastic Alumni
If you can’t stop gushing about your Cobber experience, Concordia’s National Alumni Board wants you. The board strives to increase awareness and knowledge about Concordia. It also promotes and supports alumni activities around the world. For more information or to nominate someone, contact the Office of Alumni Relations at (800) 699-9020.
