A Case for Business

In the past year, Dr. Greg Cant has logged countless miles in an effort to build and sell a vision. He has shaken the hands of alumni, met with business leaders and delivered dozens of presentations – all to gain input on and build support for Concordia College’s School of Business, a vision he is turning into reality.
“There will be a wealth of experience and knowledge available between the faculty and business leaders. It blends strong academics with real-world experience. There will be a lot of demand for what’s being offered.”

Students accustomed to communicating with their cell phones relearned how to connect in person after a classroom experiment demonstrated the grip technology has on their lives.
Ahead of its Time

When Sen Lin Hu, the Chinese Language Village, rounded up a few dozen villagers for its first session 25 years ago, there was only one Chinese immersion school in the country. When elementary and high schools were still emphasizing mostly European languages, Concordia Language Villages expanded its program to include the world's most commonly spoken language.
Forgiving the Unforgivable
Driving higher on one of Rwanda's thousand hills brings a divine view of the river below. I can't help but think: What is this river called? Were bodies floating here years ago? The 1994 genocide left survivors with broken memories and scattered remains of their loved ones. Here, red dirt roads race along the lives of the living who carry memories of the dead.
Keeping it Classic

Most students don't see their professors on the weekends, much less get the chance to watch them jam out to classic tunes from some of music's biggest stars. Then again, most professors aren't a part of a 12-piece funk band with a strange name and a lot of character.
