Shaping Who I Am
By Kyle Sell '07

Concordia really enables you to explore all of your interests. I love how I can be a business and communication double major, sing in one of the best college choirs in the country (The Concordia Choir), get involved in numerous activities and still serve on committees for major campus events. From Temple Band and Campus Ministry Commission to the Homecoming committee and Relay for Life, I'm getting to explore all kinds of opportunities. And when, after three semesters as a declared biology major, I switched to my current majors it wasn't a big deal. I looked into some other classes and departments and chose majors that better met my interests. And I'll still graduate in just four years!

I've also been able to tap into Concordia's wonderful study abroad programs. During my sophomore year, I studied in Egypt for a week and a half on a religion Exploration
Seminar
. That same year, just a couple months later, I studied abroad for a month in England, France, Italy and Greece on a music and spirituality May Seminar. There are so many programs to choose from.

When I think about graduating from Concordia in a year, I feel like a big part of myself is going to be left behind. Concordia has become such a large part of my identity. I think that's the reason there is such strong "Cobber pride" among alumni. Concordia makes such an effort to make sure each student feels like they belong and that they are part of this community. You don't find that many places. And no matter what you do after graduation, the Cobber ring always reminds you of where you came from. It's a very unique relationship between student and college.
