Folkehøgskole is excellent preparation and for many students opportunities abound for you to study at Concordia.  The quality of education in the United States is highly regarded around the world, and opportunities await for those with a strong global education.

Concordia evaluates your Vitnemål (or IB Diploma) and your Folkehøgskole transcript, and if you are a good student you will be accepted and receive transfer credit equal to at least one year.  This means you can start with sophomore or junior standing, receive Lånekassen assistance the first year you attend and every year you attend, and complete your Bachelor degree in 3 years or less!

It is not required you choose your field of study before you begin at Concordia.  Many students take a variety of courses their first year and make their final choice about their field of study after one or two semesters. American schools in general and Concordia are flexible in this way, and therefore can be an ideal choice if you are still deciding what you wish to study.

Applying is as easy as 1-2-3!  Please complete and send to us this material:

  1. College application - can use common application if you wish
  2. Transcript from Folkehøgskole and Vitnemål (or IB Diploma) from your secondary school
  3. Two academic references - can be from teachers, rektors, or rådgivers

As soon as we receive your material we will review your application and let you know the result within about two weeks.

No English test is required for students who have a secondary school grade of 4 or better in English.  Otherwise, we will ask that you please take IELTS or TOEFL.
