Print out a clean copy of your ten sentences. If you haven't yet cleaned up typos in your sentences or abnormalities in your Works Cited entry, do so.
Identify all of the verbal phrases in your passage.
Remember that many verbals are transitive (have an object).
1. Indicate type (gerund, infinitive, present participle,
past participle,
or absolute phrase)
2. Indicate part of speech (N, adj, adv)
3. Indicate sentence function (S, DO, OP, etc.)
You may want to use some code system (colored highlighters, degrees of underlining, or so forth) to distinguish one verbal from another.
