1. Before we begin our study of Job, recall what you may already know about this story, both the person and the book.
2. Why do you think God allows Satan to harm Job, not once but twice?
3. Is God responsible for everything that happens to us? Are there perhaps things that happen in this world that are not God's will?
4. Job's friends sat with him in silence for seven days. Can you imagine doing this with a friend? Do you thing it would help the sufferer if you had nothing to say?
5. Contrast the Job in Chapters 1 & 2 with the Job in Ch. 3. How do you explain the change?
6. Is death always the enemy? Does Job believe in life after death?
7. Do you thing that God sometimes seems like an enemy to people who are suffering?
8. In Job 7:1-10, What would you say to a friend who had just unloaded on you sentiments very much like these expressed by Job?
9. Would a true Christian get as low as Job? Is lament legitimate for Christians? Does it show lack of faith?
10. How do you respond to lamenters around you?
