To dump or not to dump, that is the question --would pear growers be better off if they dumped
some of their pears -- pears that
were costly to produce -- pears that the growers have worked hard to raise?
Will dumping raise or lower their total revenue?
Are pears unique in the eyes of consumers or just another fruit with many substitutes like apples? How well do
pears and apples substitute for each other in the eyes of consumers? Do pear expenditures increase with income? Should the
government step in with a price support program to help out beleaguered pear growers? How would the market handle this
