Andrew Lindner is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. His research and teaching interests include sociology of the media, social theory, political sociology, and stratification, particularly the intersection of politics and the mass media. His research has appeared in Contexts and Social Problems and has been featured in media such as The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, and The Daily Kos. He conducted one of first studies of the substantive content of news coverage of Operation Iraqi Freedom, considering particularly the role of the controversial embedding program in putting forward a military-focused account of the war. Andrew currently teaches two courses -- Media and Society and Human Society -- in the Department of Sociology and Social Work at Concordia. Aside from work, Andrew is an avid soccer fan and news junkie and lives in Fargo, ND where he has yet to encounter a woodchipper.
