Assignment 9

Working with Real Signals

Assignment

Change your temperature monitoring VI to work with a real signal instead of the simulated signal.  Replace the signal simulator with the output of a real thermocouple in the laboratory.  (A type K thermocouple is plugged into the thermocouple input on the data acquisition interface box.)  Demonstrate this VI for me to receive full credit.

Programming Hints

This one should be very easy.  Simply delete the signal simulator and replace it with the DAQ Assistant [Measurement I/O » NI DAQmx » DAQ Assistant],
When you configure the DAQ Assistant, you'll want to use acquire signals » analog input » temperature » thermocouple » channel ai1.  Select a type K thermocouple.  You can play with the acquisition mode to see what gives you the best (least noisy) results.  I would suggest using N Samples and then varying the value of N.
