Duane Siverson
Duane Siverson serves as a faculty member
in the Health and Physical Education Department and is the Head
Men's basketball and Head Women's Golf Coach.

Duane's Women's Golf Teams teams finished second or third
in the NCAA
Division III National Championships from 1992-1995 , finished 6th at
the spring 1996
NCAA Division II-III Tournament, and 4th
at the 1997 NCAA II-III Tournament.
They have won a total of seven Minnesota State Golf Championships including four of the last five. With Siverson as their coach, the Cobbers have 59 first place tournament finishes to their credit.
The Cobbers have dominated their conference opponents in the MIAC Conference championship's six years of existence, winning the conference title five times, including titles in 1995 and 1996. In the fall of 1995 Concordia won each of the seven invitationals on their schedule and in the fall of 1996 they won 6 of 7.
Siverson was named the Minnesota Golf Coaches' Coach of the Year in 1995-96. He is a member of the NCAA Division III Regional Committee for Women's Golf.
His Cobber teams have featured many talented golfers in the past and present. Fourteen Cobbers have received All-American recognition during Siverson's tenure, including the national champion in 1981 and the runner-up in 1992.
In addition to his coaching duties, Siverson is a member of numerous golf committees in the Fargo Moorhead area. He has been a member of the National Golf Coaches Association for ten years, and National Golf Foundation member for 14 years. He was the manager and supervisor of Maple River Golf Club in West Fargo, ND for ten years and managed the Willow Creek Golf Course in Barnesville, Minn. for one year.
Siverson has also been an instructor of golf at Concordia since 1980.
He has been a member of the Health
and Physical Education Department at Concordia since 1979.
Duane Siverson has been Running Cobber men's basketball head coach
since 1991. He has a 246-105
career coaching record.
In his 6 years as the Cobber men's head coach he has already put together two of the three winningest seasons in Cobber history. His 1994-95 team went 18-7 (matching the second best win total in school history).
The 1995-96 squad went 16-4 in the MIAC, captured the MIAC playoff championship and was 21-6 overall. The 1995-96 Cobbers earned a first-ever NCAA men's basketball tournament bid. The 21 wins is a school record.
Siverson ended the 1996-97 season as the school's all-time winningest basketball coach. That team won 10 of its final 12 games and put the Cobbers in the MIAC's top 4 for the third consecutive year.
He served as an assistant coach for the Running Cobbers from 1978-1984, during which time the Cobbers captured two MIAC titles. In 1984 Siverson took over as head coach of the Cobber women's program and guided them to four MIAC titles, the 1988 NCAA Division III National Championship and seven NCAA tournament appearances. He was NCAA Division III National Coach of the Year in 1988. He became head coach of the Running Cobber program in 1991.
Siverson was raised in Casselton, ND, and later moved to Spokane,
WA, where he graduated from high school. He received his B.A. degree from
Yankton College in 1978 and earned honors for both academic and athletic
achievements.
He and his wife, Bonnie, and their two sons, Tyler and Jordan, live
in south Moorhead.
