COM 380 - Gender & Communication

Final Presentation Schedule (December 10)

General Guidelines for the Project

I gave no page limit for the paper--it totally depends on an individual's project.  The only requirement is that there IS a paper, with cited references, accompanying the project.  Some people will be more comfortable doing traditional research papers (I have one student who estimates her paper at 20 pages), while others will opt to do more creative projects, and the paper will be much smaller.

The time "limit" I mentioned in class is "about 5 minutes" per person for the formal presentation part.  The class is divided into 4 thematic groups (kind of) with about 6 people per group.  In an hours span, that equates to 30 minutes of presentation, then 30 minutes for questions from the audience and a break before the next group presents.  I won't be timing people so a couple minutes longer won't be especially problematic, but we need to be fair and not encroach on each other's time.
