For Paper #2  you will need to locate several articles that relate to one another on a communication topic of your choice.  Small Assignment #3 was designed to get you started collecting these articles.

For Small Assignment #4, you will be given a worksheet in class (on Friday, October 26) to help you complete Paper #2.  Using the final articles you have chosen for your synthesis paper, summarize the important information from your articles (as listed on the worksheet) and bring the worksheet to class on Friday, November 2 (this is one week before the Synthesis Paper workshop).

• You may, but do not have to, use the article you found for Paper #1 for this assignment too.
• You may, but are not required to, use one of the theories from the West and Turner textbook to focus your paper.
• You should limit your search to JOURNAL ARTICLES ONLY on the databases whenever you can.  Almost all of the databases you will use for COM 201 have this ability.  This way you will be less likely to inadvertently choose the wrong kind of article.
• You may summarize more than 4 articles if you are not sure which articles you will use for your next paper.

Don't forget that you can work with 1-2 other people on Paper #2, so if you know others who might be interested in your topic, feel free to work with them.
