| The purpose of this study is to determine the role of humor in the satisfaction levels of married couples. I am planning on being married someday, so the topic of humor and marriage interests me. If using humor in a marriage has a positive effect on marital satisfaction, then I would like to incorporate humor into my own marriage someday. |
| As an avid watcher of Will & Grace and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, I often wonder how the public is affected by these, and other shows where a central character is openly gay. Personally, I have several friends who are gay, including my best friend of eight years, and feel I view these shows differently than a lot of my peers. But what about teens that do not have that connection to the gay community? The purpose of this study is to try and answer some of these questions. |
| I chose to study the communication styles of powerful women, as it is a topic that has always been of interest to me. Women who rise to authoritative positions are often attacked for the image they convey. Much of the judgment stems from differing views on how women should portray themselves when in leadership roles. I myself hope to pursue a career in politics and am interested in which feminine communication styles are most effective. |
| Many young women in the modern world have suffered from eating disorders, myself among them. Because I have experienced the tortures of eating disorders, I am interested in the role that the media plays in the development of eating disorders and distorted body image. |
