Why Cite a source? What information do you need?

Why should you have footnotes or a bibliography for your paper or presentation? 
        Give credit to the author. (avoid plagiarism)
        Add credibility to your document
        Find it again. (When someone else wants to find the information.) 
        Proof of when you visited the site. (sometimes sites disappear)
