Aluka (united with JSTOR) is an international, not-for-profit initiative building an online digital library of scholarly resources from and about Africa. The name, 'Aluka', is derived from a Zulu word meaning 'to weave'. The Aluka digital library contains over 345,000 items in 92 separate collections, grouped into three broad content areas with broad relevance to history, political science, international relations, human rights, archeology, architecture, anthropology, Diaspora studies, art history, folklore, biology, botany, ecology, ethnobotany, environmental studies, and area studies programs.American Mosaic:
