Remote Access to Classroom Computer
Log on to Wireless Network
- Make sure your wireless is turned on and you are connected. Check by accessing the web.
Log on to Classroom Computer
- Enter the computer IP address for the classroom(to right of VNC Server), click on medium, and click on connect
- Enter password provided for the classroom you are using and then you will see the connecting
screen.
- You will see the following screen (this is just the top with
VNC tool bar) when you are connected, and instead of pressing
CTRL, ALT, DEL, click on the CAD button on
the top left of the screen. If you do not see this screen
welcoming you to windows but see another screen, someone else is logged
onto the computer. Try not to interrupt what someone is doing and click
on red X to close your VNC session. Assuming no one else is already
logged on, you will be prompted to press CTRL,
ALT, DEL just as you always do when starting a computer. Click on
CAD at that point.
See tool bar buttons (above) left to
right.
- Begin with the second button: (the button showing a "computer
screen" to the right of CAD button.) The whole screen will be the
classroom computer. Click this button again and you will toggle
off the full screen.
- Click on CAD (left button) and enter your user name and password to log onto classroom computer.
- Hold down Ctrl and Alt keys and press F9 to remove toolbar line.
- Now use the classroom computer as you would any other computer.
Closing Session
- Turn the volume down all the way on the classroom computer.
This prevents someone from logging on from outside the room and
interrupting a class.
- Log off classroom computer by clicking on "start" and continuing
in the normal manner. You need to log off so the next instructor
can log on.
- Close top of your laptop. You don't have to close the VNC program.
- Turn volume down in computer cabinet.
- Turn off projector. Press the "stand by" remote button twice to turn off.
- Put remotes and other items in cabinet.
- Close and lock cabinet.
