5/8 Mykonos
Our first full day in Greece was spent on the island of Mykonos. After a late breakfast, most of us opted to go to the beach. Though beautiful, it turned out to be quite windy; after about an hour, we headed back and went walking downtown. A few people rented scooters and enjoyed zipping around. Several of us tried authentic Greek gyros for lunch--they were rather tasty. Among the sites pictured are the Mykonos windmills, built in "the 1700s," Jenn thinks. The streets of the town are very narrow, and nearly every building is white with blue trim. We congregated back at our posh hotel late in the afternoon for some sunning by the pool and card-playing. During this time, Amie demonstrated her Math Dance. We were all enraptured. Supper was another delicious five-course adventure. We're all here and alive and having fun!
