17 05 Florence, Italy
We arrived on train to a rainy day in Florence. We put our bags in the hotel and headed to the Duomo, where a group of us climbed the 463 stairs to the top of the dome. The dome had a huge painting of the apocalypse. It was fairly demonic and very interesting to stare up at. We then were able to climb up to the outside of the dome where we had an excellent view of Florence. Then we had free time where we broke up and some people slept, some did laundry, some went shopping, and some hit up the local ice cream shops. Later that night most of the group went to the ZAZA Trattoria, a authentic Italian tratoria which had a wonderful Italian food.
