DICKINSON, N.D.-- Concordia showed no signs of the long Christmas holiday layoff as they competed at the Dickinson State Open.

The Cobbers had several outstanding individual performances and as a team captured 23 matches. Eight different Concordia wrestlers finished the meet with at least two victories.

Lee Rahrlien and P.J. Mack posted the highest finishes for Clay Nagel's crew. Rahrlien moved up one weight class and finished fourth at 165. He was 4-2 on the day and is now 17-6 on the season. Mack also went 4-2 and finished fifth at 149. Mack is third on the team in overall victories this season with 13.

Luke Vetsch had one of the biggest highlights of the day. Wrestling at 174, Vetsch lost a hard-fought 5-2 decision to Mike Krummer of the University of Great Falls, who is ranked #1 among wrestlers in the NAIA at 174.

Other top Cobber wrestlers at the meet included Leland Brincefield, John Fradette, Tony Neumann, Ed Oehlers, Matt Gastecki and Preston Lyles. All six wrestlers finished with two wins on the day.

Concordia will host its first dual meet of the season when they square off against Southwest Minnesota State on Friday, Jan. 13 at 7:00pm at Memorial Auditorium. The Cobbers are 3-2 in dual meets this season.
