Brute/Adidas National Individual Rankings

MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/27/10)-- Concordia is ranked seventh in the latest Brute/Adidas Coaches National Rankings. The Cobbers were ranked ninth in the poll released on Jan. 4 and moved up two spots in the latest national rankings. Concordia has now been ranked in the top 10 of the nation for all seven national rankings releases.

CC is currently 11-4 in dual meets this season. The 11 wins ties the program record for most dual meet wins in a season.

On top of the team recognition, four Concordia individual wrestlers were ranked in the top 10 of their weight class. Daron Hohbein (So., Mandan, N.D.) is ranked fifth at 125, Ben Anderson (Jr., Frazee, Minn.) is ranked fourth at 141, Justin Berns (Jr., Perham, Minn.) is ranked ninth at 149 and last year's national runner-up Phil Moenkedick (Jr., Perham, Minn.) is ranked fourth at 184.

Anderson is currently second on the team in wins. He is 22-3 on the year and coming off the National Duals Tournament where he went 5-0 and for his efforts was named the D3wrestle.com National Wrestler of the Week. Berns is 20-2 and recently won his weight class at the Dickinson State Invite. Moenkedick lost in last year's national championship match and has rattled off a 19-2 record this season. He has captured individual championships at three different multiple-team invites. Hohbein is 10-3 on the season and went 2-1 at the National Duals.

The Cobbers will be looking to earn their school-record 12th dual meet win of the year when they square off against cross-town rival MSU Moorhead on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m.
