Courtesy of GoCobbers.com, Release: December 13 Complete Husky Open Results Now Online: - Husky Open Results (pdf) Meet Recap The Cobbers were led by All-American Tony Neumann who lost his opening match but then rattled off five straight wins and finished third in the 197-lb weight class. Neumann, who is currently ranked second in the nation in his weight class in the latest Brute-Adidas National Coaches Poll, improved his overall season record to 17-4. The only other CC wrestler to collect five wins at the open was sophomore Ben Anderson who went 5-2 and finished fifth in the 141-lb weight class. Anderson is currently ranked fourth in the nation in the weight class and is now 15-6 on the year. Junior Lane Lunde and freshman Daron Hohbein recorded fourth-place finishes at the meet. Lunde was 4-2 at 157 and is now 13-6 for the season. He won his first three matches of the meet but then fell in the semifinals. Lunde is ranked seventh in the nation. Like Neumann, Hohbein lost his first match before winning three straight and then losing in the third-place match to a wrestler from MSU Mankato. Hohbein went 3-2 at the meet and is now 13-4 on the season. Justin Berns and Luke Vetsch were the other two Cobber wrestlers to place in the top six. Berns was 4-2 at 149 and Vetsch went 3-3 at 165. Berns upped his team-leading win total to 18 on the year. He is now 18-6 for the season. Vetsch captured his 10th overall win of the season and gives the Cobbers eight different wrestlers with at least 10 wins on the year. Concordia will have a three-week break before returning to action at the Blue Hawk Open at Dickinson State on Jan. 3.
