- Meet started at 157 - Concordia won three of the final four matches of the meet to rally from an 11-10 deficit - Cobbers won six of the 10 individual matches - Three matches were won by a major decision - Three matches were decided by two points or less - Joe Leacox won his team-leading 25th match of the season for Concordia Meet Recap: ABERDEEN, S.D. (2/06/07)-- Trailing 11-10 with four matches remaining against Northern State, and the prospect of getting back on an icy-cold bus to travel back to Moorhead, Concordia came through with three red-hot wins to take the dual meet 19-14 and make the road back home a lot less frigid. The win for the Cobbers is their eighth dual match victory of the year. That is the most dual meet wins for CC since the 1980's. Concordia is now 8-5 on the year. In a variation from this year's dual meets, the starting weight class was determined by a random draw and might have been the first break of the day for the Cobbers who spent most of the road trip to Aberdeen, S.D. without heat because of a broken pump in the bus. With the meet starting at 157, Concordia won the first three matches behind the strength of the Lunde brothers opening with a pair of decisions at 157 and 165. Logan Lunde won 8-7 at 157 to claim his seventh straight dual match victory. He has now won 11 of his last 13 overall matches. Cody Salo then won a major decision at 174 to give Concordia a 10-0 lead after three matches. The Wolves then won the next three matches, two by major decision, to grab a one-point lead at 11-10 entering the final four matches of the meet. The Concordia lightweights then put the match on ice as they came up with three straight wins. Matt Nyvold posted a 11-6 decision at 125 to give CC a 13-11 lead. Joe Leacox then recorded his team-leading 25th win of the year by winning 17-11 at 133. P.J. Mack then put the match away with his tough 3-2 decision at 141. The Cobbers will finish off their regular season when they host Jamestown College in a dual meet on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. The match can be seen live on the Cobber athletics website.
