ST. PAUL, Minn.-- Ashley Reinhardt and Ashley Andrews each had two goals and one assist to lead No. 6-ranked St. Thomas (18-4-1 overall, 13-2-1 MIAC) to an 8-1 victory over visiting Concordia-Moorhead in MIAC women's hockey play Saturday afternoon in Mendota Heights.
Katie Jaeger and Maria Richardson each added a goal and two assists for the Toms, who used six second-period goals to build a 7-0 lead. They avenged Friday's 1-0 loss to the Cobbers and ended a four-game winless streak (0-3-1).
Concordia's goal was scored by freshman defenseman Stacy Hill. Hill's goal was the first of her collegiate career. The score was taken while the Cobbers were shorthanded. Both Concordia's goals on the weekend were netted while the Cobbers were killing off a penalty.
Katie Jetland stopped 33 of 34 shots in goal for the Tommies. Jenna Johnson started the game for Concordia and made 15 saves in the first 26:41 of action. Amber Malcolm relieved Johnson and turned aside 13 of the 16 shots she faced.
Concordia will finish off the 2005-06 season next weekend when they play at Augsburg on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7:05pm and then on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 2:15pm.
