MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/02/09)-- Concordia freshman forward Becca Kent (Princeton, Minn./Elk River HS) was named the MIAC Player of the Week it was announced on Monday. Kent recorded six points in helping the Cobbers post a two-game sweep over Augsburg.

It is the first conference honor for Kent and she becomes the first CC player to win the weekly award since last year when Alyssa Dahl earn the honor on Feb. 11

Kent had three goals and three assists in the Cobbers' two-game sweep over the Auggies. Her six-point outburst helped Concordia move into fourth place in the league standings.

Kent was part of an offense that scored 14 goals on the weekend, the second-most ever in a two-game series for a Cobber team in the history of the program and most since the 2002-03 season when they scored 19 goals in a sweep over Hamline.

In Friday's 7-1 win, Kent had two goals and two assists including the assist on the game-winning goal. In Saturday's 7-0 win she added one goal and one assist to bring her weekend total to six.

For the season, Kent has nine goals and six assists for 15 points. She is currently tied for the team lead in goals and is second in points. Kent is also third in the league in freshman scoring in league games.
