Concordia senior Alyssa Dahl and the rest of the Cobbers surrendered a two-goal lead in the second period and came away with a 3-3 overtime tie at St. Ben's on Friday.

Gameday Game Recap:

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (2/06/09)-- Concordia scored the first two goals of the game against St. Ben's but then watched as the Blazers came back to net three of the final four goals and had to settle for a 3-3 overtime tie. The tie keeps the Cobbers in fourth place in the MIAC standings as they move to 7-4-2 in league play and 10-7-3 in all games. CC has 16 conference points and is four points of St. Olaf who is currently in fifth place.

The Cobbers jumped on the board with two goals in the first period. Bre Bian notched the first of her three points on the day when she scored at the 2:05. MIAC Player of the Week Becca Kent picked up the assist on the opening goal of the game. Emily Sell then added to the lead when she scored her seventh goal of the year at 12:29. It looked as if the Cobbers would run away and hide as they outshot CSB in the first half of the period.

St. Ben's (6-7-2/4-7-2 MIAC) started to gain momentum in the last part of the opening period and then got on the board at 4:49 of the second period. They finally tied the game at 18:25. Both goals in the period were scored o the power play.

The Cobbers regained the lead at 8:24 of the third period when Kaylee Black scored her sixth goal of the year. Bian was credited with the only assist on the play. For Bian it was her third point of the game and 15th of the season.

The Blazers then tied the game at 12:57 and the two teams battled through the remaining seven minutes of regulation and five minutes of overtime without scoring a goal.

For the game St. Ben's outshot Concordia 37-27. However, the Cobbers did have the only two shots in the extra period. CC goalie Maddie Haroldson made 34 saves in the game while Blazer netminder Abbie Helminen stopped 24 shots.

The two teams will finish off their series on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 1:45 p.m.
