MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (2/08/08)-- Alyssa Dahl (JR, Willmar, Minn.) claimed a hat trick with three third-period goals, including two goals five seconds apart, leading Concordia College-Moorhead to a 3-0 win over host Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Friday night at the Augsburg Ice Arena.

Concordia (7-9-2 overall, 7-4-2 MIAC) outshot Augsburg (3-14-1 overall, 3-9-1 MIAC) by a 37-23 margin, including a 24-11 margin through the first two periods. Augsburg goalie Toni Menth (SO, Buffalo, Minn.) claimed 34 saves, marking the 16th time this season that she has collected 30-plus saves. Concordia goalie Maddie Haroldson (SO, Saartell, Minn.) stopped all 23 shots she faced for the shutout win.

Dahl scored her first goal five seconds into a power play from Bre Bian (JR, Cedarburg, Wis.) at the 6:37 mark, and followed five seconds later with a goal off the draw from Jen Bextermueller (FY, St. Charles, Mo.). She completed her hat trick with a goal at the 10:33 mark from Bian and Bextermueller.

The game was an even one through the first two periods, as neither team scored on one power play apiece leading to the second intermission. Augsburg opened the third period with a power play, but was unable to convert.

Dahl had nine shots on goal in the game, while Bextermueller had five shots and Bian had four shots. For Augsburg, Jackie Keller (SR, Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City West HS) and Katie Medd (SR, Mankato, Minn./East HS) had four shots apiece, and Tiffany Magnuson (JR, Green Bay, Wis./Notre Dame Academy HS) had three shots on goal.

The teams complete the MIAC series on Saturday (2/9) at 2:15 p.m. at the Augsburg Ice Arena.
