MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/30/07)-- Concordia scored a goal at the start of the period after Hamline opened the game by scoring at the start of the first period and the teams skated to a 1-1 overtime tie in Moorhead on Friday. It is the third time in the past seven games between the two teams that the game has ended in a tie. The tie keeps Concordia unbeaten in MIAC play. They are now 2-0-1 in the conference and 2-5-1 in all games. The Pipers push their overall record to 5-3-1 and their league mark to 0-2-1.

The game was characterized by good goaltending on both ends of the ice. Concordia goalie Maddie Haroldson made 34 saves in the game, many from point-blank range, while Hamline netminder Crystal Testolin turned aside 23 shots. Both goalies made big saves down the stretch in the third period and did not let up in the overtime period. For Haroldson, she drops her goals against average to 2.23 on the year. Testolin nudges her season goals against average down to 4.00.

Hamline opened the scoring less than seven minutes into the opening period when Lucy Crosby finished off a goalmouth scramble by sliding the puck past Haroldson. The goal, at the 6:33 mark, was the first collegiate goal from Crosby. Kesia Madryga was credited with the assist.

From that point forward, the two goalies took over, stopping all but one shot for the rest of the game.

The Cobbers scored the game-tying goal at the start of the third period. Kayla Thorson scored her second goal of the season at 3:03 and neither team was able to find the net for the remaining 16:57 of the third period and the five minutes of overtime.
