Gameday Game Recap

NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Concordia opened the game with a 5-0 run and never looked back as they led wire-to-wire against St. Olaf in Northfield on Saturday. The Cobbers finished the game by outscoring the Oles 13-8 to capture a 66-57 victory and win for the fifth straight time.

Concordia is now 11-2 in the MIAC and maintains a one-game lead atop the conference. In addition to their five consecutive wins, the Cobbers have won eight of the past nine games and pushes their overall record to 13-4.

St. Olaf plays the Cobbers tough for the second straight time but can't overtake Concordia in the end. The Oles are now the mirror opposite of the Cobbers record wise. St. Olaf is 2-11 in league play and 4-13 overall.

Annie Keeley had another high-scoring game against the Oles. In the team's first meeting in December, Keeley had a career-high 25 points and helped Concordia win by five. On Saturday, Keeley hit key free throws down the stretch and finished with a game-high 18 points.

Melanie Hageman put up another solid performance in the post for the Cobbers. The sophomore had 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds. She has now scored in double figures in the past eight games and 13 of the past 14.

Kristina Stoermer led all St. Olaf players with 16 points. She also hauled down eight rebounds. Christina Sampson had a game-high nine rebounds for the Oles.

Concordia will finish off their back-to-back conference road weekend when they play at St. Mary's on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 1:00pm. The game can be heard live via the internet at: www.cord.edu/dept/sports/broadcast.php
