MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Concordia will face UW-Stout in the first round of the NCAA Division III women's basketball tournament it was announced on Monday. The Cobbers (21-6) will face the Blue Devils (20-7) on Friday, Mar. 3 at 5:30pm at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.

The game will be broadcast live on 1280AM in the Fargo-Moorhead area as well as via the internet at www.gocobbers.com.

The winner of the Concordia/UW-Stout game will play the winner of the Simpson/St. Ben's first round game on Saturday, Mar. 4 at 7:00pm. The host Storm and Blazers play at 7:30pm on Friday.

Concordia earned their NCAA Tournament berth by winning the MIAC Tournament Championship, their first conference playoff title in the six-year history of the event. The Cobbers will be making their first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 1995-96 season and 15th overall in the history of the program. Concordia won the national championship in 1988 and has a 20-14 overall record in NCAA national tournament games.

UW-Stout will be making their second consecutive appearance in the tournament and eighth overall. Last year they advanced to the third round of the tournament before losing to Millikin University 59-56. The Blue Devils earned their trip to the national playoffs by claiming their second consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) tournament title. They have also won back-to-back WIAC regular-season championships.
