MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Concordia senior Tori Ehlert (Battle Lake, Minn./Battle Lake HS) was named the MIAC Player of the Week as announced by the MIAC league office on Monday. Ehlert won the award for her performance during the Cobbers' two-game run to the championship of the MIAC Tournament.

It is the first time in her career that she has won the award.

Ehlert, the lone senior on the team, led with her ability on the court and her leadership skills off the court as the Cobbers claimed their first MIAC playoff title in the six-year history of the event. For the week she averaged 10 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 2.5 steals.

Ehlert had 14 points and 11 rebounds in the Cobbers' 63-55 semifinal win over Gustavus on Wednesday. It was her fifth double-double of the season. She scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds in the decisive second half of the semifinal game alone.

She then had six points, three rebounds and a game-high five steals in the 65-56 championship win over Carleton on Saturday. Even though she did not put up big numbers in the championship game it was her leadership skills that helped Concordia stay composed after trailing by 11 at halftime and then falling behind by 13 early in the second half.

She did connect on one of the biggest baskets of the title contest when she drained a 3-point field goal with Concordia clinging to a 3-point lead with just over five minutes to play. Her basket helped the Cobbers finish the game on a 16-10 run and help earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

For the season, Ehlert is tied for the lead in rebounding, averaging 7.0 rebounds per game and is third on the team in scoring (8.5 points per game).
