NORTHFIELD, Minn. (12/01/07)--
(Recap courtesy of Carleton SID) Annie Isler tallied a career-high 21 points and added eight assists as Carleton College rallied for an 84-75 win over Concordia-Moorhead.
The Knights (4-1, 2-0 MIAC) trailed by as many as 11 in the first half but took a 41-38 lead at the break. The Cobbers (0-4, 0-2 MIAC) scored the first eight points of the second half, six by Anna Matetich, but scored only two field goals during a 10-minutes stretch in the second half as the hosts built a 61-53 lead. The Knights used consecutive three-pointers by Liz Baumgartner and Isler after the Cobbers pulled within two, 61-59, with six minutes left. The Knights made 16-of-20 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Jenna Freudenberg paced Concordia with 17 points and Melanie Hageman, who was saddled with foul trouble the entire game, added 13. Sara Sorbo chipped in with 14 points.
Carleton's Ally Weaver also notched a career-high with 16 points off the bench for the Knights. Sarah Lincoln added 11 points and Amber Connor was also in double figures with 10.
Concordia will host St. Olaf in the 2007-08 home opener on Monday, Dec. 3 at 5:45 p.m.
