Game Recap:

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (12/02/06)-- Concordia scored the first two points of the second half to tie their game with Valley City State 34-34, from that point on the Cobbers struggled to stay close to the red-hot Vikings and lost 70-59 in a non-conference game on Saturday.

The loss is the second straight and marks the second consecutive game Concordia has been plagued by cold shooting and turnovers in a single half. On Wednesday against St. Ben's it was an opening half freeze out that caused the Cobbers to drop the conference opener. Against Valley City it was a second half that saw the Cobbers score only 27 points and contribute to a turnover total of 27 for the game. In the past two games, CC has committed 51 turnovers.

Concordia is now 2-2 on the year. Valley City improves its early-season record to 8-1. They have now won eight straight after dropping their opening game of the season at Northwestern (Iowa).

For the game, Concordia shot 34.6% (18-of-52) from the field and 31.6% (6-of-19) from 3-point range. That marks the second straight game the Cobbers have shot under 35.0% from the floor and under 32.0% from beyond the arc.

The outside-inside tandem of Annie Keeley and Melanie Hageman regained their scoring touch as they combined for 43 of the team's 59 points. Keeley finished with a game-high 23 points while Hageman added 20. Keeley was "on" from the outside as she went 5-of-9 from 3-point range. Hageman was 10-of-11 from the free throw line and 5-of-10 from the floor.

Sarah Krabbenhoft and Sara Sorbo led the Cobbers in rebounding. Both players hauled down six rebounds in the game. Krabbenhoft also added seven points.

Concordia will return to MIAC action when they play at St. Olaf on Monday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
