St. Ben's Dual Meet Results - Now Online!

ST. JOSEPH, Minn.-- After more than one month since their last competitive meet, Concordia finally dove back in the pool in a dual meet against St. Ben's in St. Joseph, Minn. on Saturday. As much as things have changed in one months time, things stayed the same as Concordia diver Annie Cullen captured both events in diving and the Cobbers posted several outstanding individual performances.

Concordia ended up losing the dual meet 149-78 to the Blazers but used the meet to jump start their training for a run at the MIAC Championship Meet.

Cullen was pushed in the 1-meter diving event by the Blazer's Andrea Schweiters. Cullen was able to hold on and capture the event by a mere two points. The 3-meter competition was an entirely different story as Cullen ran away and was the only diver to complete all the required dives in the event.

St. Ben's captured eight of the nine individual swimming events. Concordia's Catie Eickhoff claimed a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke by swimming a 1:22.52. All three Blazer swimmers in the event swam the race as an exhibition.

Four different Cobber swimmers posted top three finishes at the meet. Shaina Fossum swam a 12:01.26 in the 1000-yard freestyle and placed third. Dani Ree posted a 1:08.38 in the 100-yard butterfly and captured third, while senior Shannon Brown also placed third in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 58.78. Brown also placed fourth in the 50-yard freestyle (26.81), and Ree was right behind in fifth place with a time of 28.35.

The Cobbers will spend next weekend in St. Paul, Minn. when they compete at St. Kate's in a dual meet on Friday, Jan. 20 at 6:00pm. They will then turn around and participate in the St. Kate's Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 21 starting at 9:00am. Both meets will be held on the campus of St. Kate's in the Butler Sports Center.
