Dragon/Cobber Open Meet Results - Now Online!


MOORHEAD, Minn.-- Concordia diving sensation Annie Cullen continued her torrid senior season by winning both the 1-meter and the 3-meter events at the Dragon-Cobber Open held at MSU Moorhead.

As a team, the Cobbers finished fifth at the event. Concordia finished the two-day meet with 585 total points. That total was 175 points better than sixth-place finisher, and conference rival, St. Catherine, who finished with 410 points.

Cullen won the 1-meter competition with a final score of 363.30 points. She won the event by almost 20 points over runner-up Sarah Chaussee of the host Dragons. Cullen then pulled off the diving double by winning the 3-meter event by 6.70 points over Chaussee. Cullen's final total of 411.70 is a career best.

Shannon Brown turned in apair of solid performances in the two breaststroke events for Concordia. Brown finished sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:42.46. She also finished sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke ina time of 1:14.84. Her time in the 200 was one full second of her time at the same meet last year, and her mark in the 100 is over two seconds faster than last year's time.

Brown also finished eighth in the 200-yard freestyle in a

time of 2:08.57. She was followed closely by teammate Katie Lee who posted a time of 2:08.82. Lee's time is only 00.22 behind the time she recorded towards the end of last year before the conference meet.

Other top performances for the Cobbers included Shaina Fossum who finished sixth in the 1650-yard freestyle in a time of 20:23.77 and Dani Ree who finished eighth in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:41.98.

Latoya Gruys placed eighth in the 1650-yard freestyle with a mark of 20:48.68.

Concordia will finish off their pre-Christmas portion of the 2005-06 schedule when they host MSU Moorhead in a dual meet on Friday, Dec. 9 at 6:00pm.
