MOORHEAD, Minn.-- Concordia dropped the first five events of their dual meet, but used the strength of their overall depth to stay close to the Tommies before finally falling 138-102. The loss was the second half of the Cobber away-and-home dual meet doubleheader weekend. On Friday, Concordia won the final two events of the meet to nip Hamline 122-120. Once again diver Annie Cullen won both events in the one-meter diving competition. She broke the Tommies' run of five straight wins to start the meet by capturing the voluntary portion of the 1-meter event. Cullen won the event by over 23 points. Teammate Sara Ryan finished third. Cullen and Ryan would go on to finish 1-2 in the optional portion of the 1-meter event later in the meet. Cullen finished with a final total of 237.70 and beat Ryan by 34 points. Ryan had 203.55 points and had a cushion of 14.45 points over Kristin Jarnes, the Tommies' top finisher who finished third. The Cobbers finally picked up their first win in swimming when the 200-yard freestyle team of Katie Lee, Jenna Dillon, Shaina Fossum and Cami Hendrickson swam a 1:48.55 and claimed the victory by .46 seconds. Concordia will be back in action next weekend when they swim a dual meet at Gustavus on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 2:00pm.
