MOORHEAD, Minn.-- Concordia won the first two events of their dual meet with Macalester and then watched the Scots rattle off victories in 10 of the next 11 events and win the dual 140-100. The Cobber wins came in both 1-meter diving events and the 200-yard medley relay. Annie Cullen helped the Cobbers by scoring 18 points for winning both the voluntary and optional portions of the 1-meter diving competition. Cullen and teammate Sara Ryan finished 1-2 in both events. The 200-yard medley relay team of Lea Williams, Shannon Brown, Dani Ree and Cami Hendrickson swam a 2:03.75 to win by a mere .07. Brown also placed second in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke, while Williams finished second in the 50-yard freestyle. Ree posted a 1:10.34 in the 100-yard butterfly and finished second. Hendrickson turned in one of the most amazing feats in Cobber swimming history when she also placed fourth in both portions of the 1-meter diving competition. Hendrickson had never before competed in a competitive diving event and only finished fourth in the voluntary portion by 3.25 points and by 9.40 points in the optional diving events. Concordia junior Katie Lee had a pair of runner-up finishes. She swam a 2:11.23 in the 200-yard freestyle and recorded a 58.82 in the 100-yard freestyle. The Cobbers will swim in back-to-back dual meets next weekend. They will swim at Hamline on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6:30pm and then return home to compete against St. Thomas on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1:00pm.
