St. Kate's Invite Meet Results - Now Online!

ST. PAUL, Minn.-- Concordia finished off their Wildcat weekend by finishing fourth at the St. Kate's Invitational on Saturday.

One day after the Cobbers beat St. Kate's by a single point in a dual meet, Concordia made like UPS and delivered several more outstanding performances.

Annie Cullen won both the 1-meter and 3-meter events during the diving competition as she continues to dominate MIAC foes during her senior season. After setting the pool record in the 1-meter event on Friday, Cullen won the 1-meter competition on Saturday by 11.40 points and the 3-meter event by 12.80 points. Both events featured some of the top divers in the conference. She has now won 15 different diving events during the course of the season.

The Cobber swimmers might be asking UPS if they can borrow their slogan for the rest of the season. UPS uses the ad campaign "What can brown do for you?" and after the weekend, Concordia will be able to ask the same question. Only for the Cobbers, it is in reference to senior swimmer Shannon Brown. On Friday, Brown brought home two event wins and on Saturday she posted a career-best time in the 50-yard freestyle by swimming a 26.56 and finishing in third place. Her final time is less than one second off of the Cobber school record. Brown also swam a 2:42.16 in the 200-yard breaststroke to finish fourth.

The lone swimming event victory was recorded by Katie Lee. She won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:06.76 which is a personal best time.

Concordia freshman Allison Bolgrean, who transferred in after the Christmas break, finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a mark of 26.71 giving Concordia two swimmers that are both under the 27-second barrier.

Brown, Lee and Bolgrean teamed with freshman Shaina Fossum to finish third out of 12 teams in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Lee, Brown, Allison Lowe and Jessica Tollberg combined to finish fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:01.75.

Other top five finishes for Julie Lucier's crew included Fossum in the 500-yard freestyle (5th - 5:46.26) and 400-yard individual medley (3rd - 5:17.36), Dani Ree in the 100-yard butterfly (2nd - 1:08.85), Lowe in the 100-yard butterfly (3rd - 1:11.97) and 1650-yard freestyle (5th - 21:38.26) and Latoya Gruys in the 1650-yard freestyle (4th - 20:52.80).

Concordia will return home to host their last home dual meet of the season. The Cobbers will compete against UM-Morris on Friday, Jan. 27 at 6:30pm in the Memorial Auditorium pool.
