Complete UM-Morris Relays Results - PDF format

MORRIS, Minn.-- In the first meet of the 2005-06 season, Concordia won seven of the nine relay races and potential All-American diver Annie Cullen claimed the 1-meter diving competition as the Cobbers cruised past the Cougars in the UM-Morris Relays.

No individual team results were kept at the meet as Concordia swam in the event for the first time in the history of the program.

The Cobbers started the meet by claiming the 200-yard butterfly relay. After finishing second in the 200-yard backstroke relay, Concordia won the 200-yard breaststroke relay, the 800-yard freestyle relay, the 500-yard freestyle relay, the 400-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay before Cullen picked up where she left off last season when she was named the MIAC Co-Diver of the Year by winning the 1-meter diving event. The Cobbers won the 400-yard individual medley relay to cap off their seven wins of the meet.

Cullen won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 207.75. She beat teammate Sara Ryan by almost 20 points. Ryan, diving in her first collegiate meet, captured second place with a score of 188.35.

The largest margin of victory for the Cobbers in any race was in the 400-yard individual medley relay where Shannon Brown, Dani Ree, Katie Lee and Shaina Fossum swam a 4:50.13 and won the event by over 32 seconds.

Another big win for the Cobbers came in the 800-yard freestyle relay where Lee, Elise Larson, Jessica Tollberg and Latoya Gruys posted a time of 9:21.90 and beat the Morris relay team by 26.85.

The Cobbers will open their home schedule when they host Macalester on Nov. 5 at 1:00pm.
