Courtesy of GoCobbers.com, Release: November 22 ST. PAUL, Minn.-- Concordia senior diver Annie Cullen (Moorhead, Minn.) was named the MIAC Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week as announced by the MIAC league office on Tuesday. The honor marks the second time in her career that she has won the weekly award. Last year she won athlete of the week honors for her national qualifying performance at MSU-Moorhead. Cullen won this week's award for her national provisional qualifying performance at the Concordia/Gustavus dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 19. Cullen posted a score of 248.55 in the one-meter event and won the competition by over 35 points. She also won the 3-meter event at the meet. Cullen's score of 248.5 was 3.5 points better than the qualifying mark of 245 needed in dual meet competition. She will need to post one more qualifying score to become eligible for selection to the national meet. Last year Cullen was named the MIAC Co-Diver of the Year, and qualified for the national meet in both the 3-meter and 1-meter events. She wound up finishing 20th in both. This year Cullen has won nine of the ten diving events that she has entered. Her only loss came to teammate Sara Ryan in the 1-meter competition at Hamline.
