Meet Recap:

ABERDEEN, S.D. (12/11/09)-- Concordia traveled to Aberdeen, S.D. on Friday and had their three-meet winning streak come to an end as they lost 158-104 to Northern State. The loss drops the Cobbers' dual-meet record to 3-4 on the season.

Concordia had a pair of individual event winners and several top 3 finishes at the meet which did not include any diving competitions. Katie Coleman and Stacie Fossum were the lone event winners for CC. Coleman swam a 19:32.78 in the 1650-yard freestyle and won the event by over one minute. It marked the third straight meet that Coleman has won a freestyle event. Fossum captured the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:42.47. She has also won events in successive weeks as last weekend she won the 1650-yard freestyle against Augsburg and UM-Morris.

The Cobbers had six swimmers earn 10 second-place honors in 10 of the 12 non-relay events. Four different CC athletes had a pair of second-place finishes. To go along with her win in the 1650-yard freestyle, Coleman also placed second in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:21.94. Other runner-up finishes included Aleina Weisz in the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.53) and 200-yard individual medley, Sarah Ament in the 200-yard backstroke (1:10.64) and 500-yard freestyle (5:56.38), Jessica Obrecht in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:19.70), Whitney Walters in the 200-yard butterfly (2:39.26) and 100-yard freestyle (1:01.31) and Amanda Suchanek in the 50-yard freestyle (26.48) and 100-yard butterfly (1:11.55).

Concordia will now have almost a full month break for the Christmas holiday before returning to action against St. Ben's on Jan. 8.
