Meet Recap:

MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/09/09)-- Concordia began the 2009 portion of their schedule by falling to St. Ben's 188-109 in a dual meet in Moorhead on Friday. The Cobbers captured four individual event titles and had several top three finishes but couldn't overcome the speed of the Blazers and lost for the third time this season.

The loss snaps the Cobbers' two-meet winning streak and drops their season dual-meet record to 2-3. The Blazers are now 2-2 in dual meets and have recorded two straight victories.

Concordia junior diver Lauren Trudeau provided two of the four event wins for the team. She captured both portions of the 1-meter diving competition. She won the first event with a score of 154.65 and beat teammate Amy Glubzinski, who finished in second place, by 7.90 points. Trudeau then backed up her first win by scoring 208.30 in the second portion of the diving event and won by 4.15 points.

The two swimming events won by Concordia were captured by Katie Coleman and Kristina Westmark. Coleman swam a 2:22.74 in the 200-yard backstroke and earned a win in her third straight dual meet. Westmark recorded a time of 2:28.35 in the 200-yard individual medley beat fellow Cobber Shaina Fossum by a mere 0.10 of a second.

The highlight of the day for St. Ben's came in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The quartet of Carolyn Triggs, Becca Schleicher, Brooke Johnson and Kelly Matzen swam a 3:45.15 and smashed the pool record of 3:49.81 set by MSU Moorhead in 2005.

Concordia will finish off the dual-meet section of their schedule when they host St. Kate's in the annual Senior Recognition and Parent's Reception meet on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 1 p.m.
