Meet Recap:

MOORHEAD, Minn. (12/05/08)-- Concordia won eight events in their dual meet with Northern State and went on to beat the Wolves 134-84 in Moorhead on Friday. The win is the first dual-meet victory of the year for the Cobbers.

Concordia had six different athletes earn individual event wins and was led by sophomore Katie Coleman who captured both the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle events. Coleman claimed both events by less than a combined full second. She swam a 2:08.20 in the 200-yard freestyle to win the event by .50 seconds. She then recorded a time of 5:50.53 in the 500-yard freestyle and won that race by a mere .26 seconds. Coleman also swam the anchor leg on the victorious Cobber 200-yard medley to start the meet. She teamed with Aleina Weisz, Whitney Walters and Stacie Fossum to record a time of 2:01.87 and win by almost a full two seconds.

Besides Coleman - Shaina Fossum, Kirsten Anderson, Kristina Westmark and Weisz also won individual races. Junior Lauren Trudeau won the 1-meter diving event. Shaina Fossum won the 1650-yard freestyle in a time of 19:54.85, while Anderson grabbed the title in the 50-yard freestyle (26.52), Westmark posted a win in the 100-yard freestyle (59.89) and Weisz swam a winning time of 1:05.28 in the 100-yard backstroke. Trudeau's score of 157.20 in the 1-meter voluntary dives was seven points better than teammate Amy Glubzinski who finished second.

Concordia will finish off the 2008 portion of their schedule when they swim at UM-Morris in a dual meet on Friday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m.
