Meet Recap:

MORRIS, Minn. (11/01/08)-- Concordia battled with conference rival Macalester down to the final two races but in the end was edged 125-117 by the Scots. The meet was the first competition in the new Riley Pool in the Leonard Center on the campus of Macalester.

The meet was also the first dual meet of the year for the Cobbers. The Scots even up their dual meet record on the year as they are now 1-1 in 2008.

Concordia captured only two swimming events but swept both diving events. The Cobbers earned first, second and third place finishes in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events - a theme that could be repeated throughout the season.

Lauren Trudeau captured the 1-meter event and then went on to place second in the 3-meter competition. Amy Glubzinski flip-flopped Trudeau's feat - finishing second in the 1-meter and winning the 3-meter. Nikki Christenson finished third in the 1-meter event and then freshman Molly Hansvick posted a third-place finish in the 3-meter competition.

Whitney Walters and Katie Coleman captured the only swimming event victories for the Cobbers. Walters swam a 1:07.31 in the 100-yard butterfly, while Coleman posted a 1:05.43 to win the 100-yard backstroke. Coleman also placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle. She was one of six Cobbers that recorded second-place finishes in swimming events.

Concordia will now travel to Collegeville, Minn. to compete in the St. Ben's/St. John's Invite on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 9 a.m.
