Meet Recap:

ST. PAUL, Minn. (1/18/08)-- Concordia used the strength of six individual event victories and an up-and-coming freshman class to swim past St. Kate's 140.50-98.50 on Friday in St. Paul. The victory puts an end to the Cobbers' two-meet losing streak. CC is now 5-2 in dual meets this season.

Of the six event wins for CC, five were won by freshmen.

Freshman diver Amy Glubzinski set the tone for the Cobbers in the meet and came away with wins in both diving events. Glubzinski started off the meet by narrowly edging teammate Lauren Trudeau in the 1-meter competition. Glubzinski finished with a final total of 175.40 and Trudeau was close behind at 173.55.

Glubzinski left little doubt in the 3-meter event as she posted a score of 184.75 which was almost 50 points better than the second-pace finisher.

After Glubzinski's opening-event win, Shaina Fossum claimed a victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:48.39. Whitney Walters then won the 50-yard freestyle with a mark of 27.02. Fellow freshman Aleina Weisz followed right after Walter's win by grabbing the win in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:22.59. Glubzinski then made it three-in-a-row for the Cobbers as she won the 3-meter event.

The final Concordia event-winner on the night was Katie Coleman. Coleman swam a 5:49.42 in the 500-yard freestyle and won by 21 seconds.

To go along with the six first-place finishes, the Cobbers also garnered seven second-place marks.

Concordia will stay in St. Paul and compete in the St. Kate's Invite on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 9 a.m.
