Meet Results: Results vs. UM-Morris - Now Online! Meet Recap: MOORHEAD, Minn. (12/07/07)-- Concordia broke a pair of records en route to a convincing 148-53 win over UM-Morris in a dual meet in Moorhead on Friday. The victory is the fourth straight for the Cobbers to start the season which breaks the program record for most consecutive dual meet wins to start a year. CC is now 4-0 as they enter the Christmas holiday break. The Cougars see their one-meet winning streak fall to the way side as they drop to 1-1 on the season. The other record that was smashed on Friday was the pool record in the 800-yard freestyle relay. Concordia waited in anticipation for the final event of the meet to roll around as they had set their sights on bringing down the previous record of 8:39.55 set in 2004 set by a former Cobber quartet. With the audience cheering for the record, the relay team of Katie Coleman, Whitney Walters, Shaina Fossum and Aleina Weisz clocked an 8:29.86 to break the record by almost a full ten seconds. The even brighter spot for Concordia is that three of the four swimmers on the relay team are freshmen. For the rest of the meet, the Cobbers used their overall team depth and superior diving squad to post 10 individual event wins. CC won the first four events of the meet and stretched the streak to seven of the first eight. In the process of their most lopsided victory of the season, Concordia recorded 12 career-best times and 27 season-best marks. The individual event winners included divers Amy Glubzinski and Lauren Trudeau. The tandem won both sessions of the 1-meter event. In swimming events, Rachael Hagen (1650 freestyle), Coleman (200-yard freestyle), Weisz (200-yard individual medley and 200-yard backstroke), Chelsea Volna (100-yard butterfly) and Heather Croissant (500-yard freestyle) all won their races. Coleman and Volna also recorded career-best times in their victories. Other CC athletes posting career-best times included Latoya Gruys (50-yard freestyle in the 200-yard medley relay - 28.50), Devaney Buffalo (200-yard freestyle - 2:20.17 and 100-yard freestyle - 1:04.33), Amanda Rolik (100-yard butterfly - 1:11.13), Katherine Allen (100-yard freestyle - 1:04.08), Alison Harms (100-yard freestyle - 1:08.88) and Laura Nelson (100-yard freestyle - 1:14.45). The Cobbers will now have almost a full month of training before returning to competition on Jan. 5 when they host Augsburg and St. Thomas.
