Meet Recap:

ST. PAUL, Minn. (11/16/07)-- For the first two dual meets of the season Concordia used their individual speed to hammer out decisive victories, on Friday in St. Paul the Cobbers used their overall team depth to post a 133-108 win over Hamline. CC won only five events against the Pipers but scored second-place finishes in all of the eight events that Hamline was victorious.

The dual-meet win is the third straight for Concordia to start the season. It is only the second time in program history that the team has won their first the dual meets of the season. The only other time came at the start of the 1999-00 season. CC ended that year with a program-best 7-1 record in dual meets. Concordia has never won four straight dual meets to start a season.

Against Hamline, Concordia won the opening swimming event of the meet by claiming the victory in the 200-yard medley relay. The quartet of Aleina Weisz, Chelsea Volna, Whitney Walters and Sarah Ament swam a 2:00.96 to win by almost two seconds.

Three of the four would also go on to win individual events during the meet.

Walters gave CC their second win when she recorded a time of 2:09.57 in the 200-yard freestyle.

Amy Glubzinski then won the 3-meter diving competition before Weisz won the 100-yard backstroke and Volna grabbed the win in the 100-yard breaststroke.

The Cobbers will stay in St. Paul to compete in the Macalester Invite on Saturday, Nov. 17 beginning at 9 a.m.
