For the second straight dual meet to start the 2007-08 season, Concordia cruised to an easy victory. On Friday, the Cobbers won eight events and beat Nothern State 145-54.

ABERDEEN, S.D. (11/09/07)-- For the second straight dual meet to start the 2007-08 season, Concordia coasted to a dominating victory. On Friday, the Cobbers won eight events and beat Northern State 145-54. CC is now 2-0 in dual meets to start the year. The Wolves fall for the second straight time to open the season.

Concordia started the meet out by winning the 200-yard medley relay, the 1650-yard freestyle, the 200-yard freestyle and the 50-yard freestyle before Northern State was able to claim their first event win.

The Cobbers posted other event wins in the 100-yard butterfly, the 100-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle relay.

Also for the second straight meet, Concordia had several swimmers post personal best times. Chelsea Volna put up a top time in her win in the 100-yard butterfly (1:07.91). Other personal best times were turned in by Whitney Walters in the 200-yard individual medley (2:34.52), Katie Coleman - 100-yard butterfly (1:14.10), Devaney Buffalo - 100-yard butterfly (1:24.18), Latoya Gruys - 100-yard backstroke (1:15.98), Mackenzie Koeck - 100-yard breaststroke (1:22.27), Amanda Rolik - 100-yard breaststroke (1:28.87) and Rachael Hagen - 50-yard freestyle in 200-yard freestyle relay (28.05).

CC will have a back-to-back competition weekend on Nov. 16 and 17. The Cobbers will swim against Hamline in a dual meet on Friday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. at Hamline and then compete in the Macalester Invite on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 9 a.m. at Macalester.
