Meet Recap:

MOORHEAD, Minn. (12/01/07)-- Concordia held firm to their second-place spot and claimed the runner-up position at the four-team Cobber/Dragon Open on Saturday at MSU Moorhead.

Freshman Aleina Weisz continued her run of outstanding performances at the start of the season. Weisz, who has already set a Cobber school record, was the only CC athlete to win an individual event at the meet. Weisz swam a 2:05.87 in the 200-yard freestyle to claim the victory by .03 seconds. Weisz also finished second in the 100-yard backstroke. Her finals time of 1:05.86 was less than a second off of her school-record time of 1:05.19 she set earlier in the year.

Katherine Allen and sophomore diver Amy Glubzinski recorded second-place finishes for Concordia. Allen posted a season-best time of 1:17.07 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Glubzinski scored 210.70 points in the first 1-meter diving event and finished in second by a mere 1.20 points.

The Cobbers also did well in all five relay events. CC posted top three finishes in all five events. The top relay spots came from the 400-yard freestyle relay and 800-yard freestyle relay. Both quartets finished second.

Concordia will host their 2007-08 home opener on Friday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. when they square off against UM-Morris in a dual competition. The Cobbers are 3-0 in dual meets this season and have never won four straight dual meets to start a season.
